The new structure of the LIA was approved in March. The elected board members have started their work and I would now like to introduce you to what we have been working on.

What does that mean and what have we done as the two governing bodies – the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors?
Building on LIA’s existing mission as an independent, international, non-profit organization based in Switzerland, we thought about the future and developed a vision in various online workshops:
LIA is the recognized global partner empowering individuals and professionals to
to use logosynthesis for a healthy and meaningful life.
Another important topic was how we want to work together as an LIA team. This required further intensive work on our team goal:
To advance the LIA’s mission by creating a structure that promotes awareness, ensures quality of practice, and supports members in training, research and development initiatives worldwide. Our team strives to live our values and promote collaboration between members and partners.
We are diverse personalities with different professional backgrounds. It is important to activate and use this treasure to bring in different perspectives.
What is our process for developing our strategy?
These two results now serve as the basis for the specialized work in the individual commissions with the aim of realizing our vision at all levels of the organization. However, this requires two more steps.
To move from vision and mission to strategy, we apply the design thinking methodology (overview: https://youtu.be/gHGN6hs2gZY). The focus of this process is the user – i.e. you as a member or stakeholder of the LIA. In the 5 steps of design thinking we explore the core needs of our “customers”. Where does the shoe pinch?
For this purpose, we have conducted initial interviews and are now in the evaluation phase. This allows us to take the next step: How can/will/should LIA meet these needs? I will be able to comment on this in more detail next time.
What are our biggest challenges in this endeavor?
This fact is further reinforced by the fact that the entire process must be carried out online. There is a time difference of up to 7 hours between Zurich, Canada and Peru. On-screen strategy work with tools like Miro is not something we all have a natural inclination towards. We are learning a lot, but it is also challenging to focus on both strategy and technology. However, we strive to create an organization that reflects the essence of the model and its members.
A look into the future
We assume that we will have developed an implementation paper that we can present to you by the next general meeting. We look forward to seeing you at the AGM on March 7, 2024.

Institute for Logosynthesis Cologne – Karsten Blauel and Willem Lammers
On July 29, 2023, Willem Lammers announced an agreement with Karsten Blauel, a certified trainer in Logosynthesis, to establish the Institute for Logosynthesis Cologne in Cologne, Germany. This agreement creates a second recognized training institute alongside the Institute for Logosynthesis Switzerland, which is owned by Suzanne von Blumenthal.
Training institutes form a valuable structure to ensure the quality of logosynthesis training. The creation of recognized training institutes is carried out in collaboration with Willem Lammers, the founder and owner of the Logosynthese brand. The agreement ensures the quality of training and a recognized path for practitioner certification.
What does this mean for the LIA? There is now a need and opportunity to create a new level of membership within the Logosynthesis International Association. This work is already underway and will be incorporated into the statutes at our next general meeting.

What is our process to create our strategy?
These two outcomes now serve as the foundation for the specialized work within each committee, with the aim of realizing our vision at all levels of the organization. However, this requires two more elegant sentences.

This process is centered around the user – that is, you as a member or stakeholder LIA. Following the 5 steps of Design Thinking, we explore the core needs of our “customers”. Where does it pinch?

What are our greatest challenges in this endeavor?
All LIA Board Members are volunteers, with most holding demanding jobs in addition to this time-consuming commitment. This results in less frequent workshop meetings than we would like. Furthermore, it is a challenging task to invite further volunteers to contribute to the committees. If you are interested to support committee work, please do not hesitate to contact us. What is our process for creating our strategy?

What are the major difficulties in this business?
All LIA members are volunteers, with demanding jobs on top of this time-consuming commitment. This allows us to organize fewer workshops than we would like. Additionally, it is a difficult task to invite even more volunteers to contribute to the boards. If you are interested in supporting the work of the councils, please do not hesitate to contact us. Strategy work on screens with specific applications like Miro is not something that comes naturally to everyone. Institute for Logosynthesis Cologne – Karsten Blauel and Willem Lammers
On July 9, 2023, Willem Lammers announced an agreement for work with Karsten Blauel, a certified Logosynthesis formatter, at the Foundation of the Institute for Logosynthesis Koln, in Cologne, in Allemagne. This accord creates a second institute of formation reconnu, and plus the Institute for Logosynthesis Schweis, détenu by Suzanne von Blumenthal.
The institutes of formation represent a structure précieuse to assure the quality of the formation of Logosynthèse. The creation of the Institute of Formation Reconnus is based on Willem Lammers, who is the founder and proprietor of the commercial name of the Logosynthèse. The agreement is based on the guarantee of the quality of the formation and the course of reconnaissance for the program of certification of practices in Logosynthèse.
What does it mean for the LIA? The existence of a special and an opportunity for a new level of adhesion in the interior of the Association International de Logosynthèse (LIA). This change is in course and is integrated in the statutes of our general assembly.
